CLCA is thrilled to be able to offer a new initiative to promote diversity and improved access for equity-seeking groups to the IBCLC credential in Canada :
The CLCA Diversity Bursary Program is being launched in Spring 2026, and we need help to administer it!

This program provides financial support to women and non-binary people from equity-seeking groups—including Aboriginal and Indigenous Peoples, Black people, Racialized and/or People of Colour—who are pursuing their International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential.
The bursary is valued at up to $1,000 CAD per recipient and is intended to reimburse the IBCLC Initial Examination fee for eligible candidates who have qualified to sit the IBCLE exam and have successfully passed it. The CLCA anticipates awarding 2–5 bursaries annually.
The Diversity Bursary Program Administrator will oversee all aspects of the program, from planning and promotion through application review, selection, and reimbursement.

The CLCA is committed to advancing equity within the lactation profession and strongly encourages individuals from equity-seeking communities to apply for this role.
